WP 4 Communication and support

WP4 leader: Professor Henry Buller, Exeter University, United Kingdom

The key objective WP4 is to develop and establish mechanisms for the promotion of practice driven innovation in sustainable laying hen production. This work-package will comparatively assess the capacity (including the resource, accessibility, legitimacy and connectivity potential) of the networks identified and developed in WP 2 and WP3 to promote and upscale practice-led innovation amongst practitioners and other food chain actors. The work package w ill enhance communication and interaction between the actors with a view to increasing the competence and capacity of the innovation support actors - in particular the advisory services.

The core tasks in this WP are:

  • Developing the science knowledge base through reviewing and summarizing of scientific knowledge on project specific themes from national, international and EU research projects and translating into user friendly formats for the end user.
  • Developing a comparative cross-national typology and critical review of current innovation support practices, identifying barriers and opportunities for development and up-scaling (including ‘good practice’ examples and models)
  • Establishing network communication infrastructure (system).
  • Understanding conditions necessary to build network capacity and effectiveness
  • Develop content for extension guidelines and for Continuous Professional Development for advisory services
